This hidden fortune would allow Princess Mary to vanish from sight, live in secret, and avoid her father’s enemies. The treasure would serve as her way to survive, her inheritance, and her way out of harm’s reach.
The Unspeakable Catch
But King David found himself in a terrible bind. He couldn’t reveal the location to Mary . The palace was full of listening ears, and spies seemed to hide around every corner. A straightforward conversation risked giving everything away to those plotting against him.
